77 CDF EMPOWERMENT GRANTS APPROVED UNDER 2026 CDF IN CHINSALI

CHINSALI (27th March, 2026): Chinsali Municipal Council is pleased to announce the approval of 77 empowerment grants totalling two million, six hundred eighty-five thousand, five hundred seventy-two kwacha (K2,685,572) for cooperatives, clubs, and community groups in Chinsali Central Constituency under the 2026 Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, through the Muchinga Provincial Local Government Office, approved the grants in accordance with Section 12 (a) read together with Section 25 (2) of the CDF Act No. 1 of 2024.

The grants have been approved to support various community-driven initiatives aimed at enhancing economic empowerment, and sustainable livelihoods across the constituency.

The majority of the approved projects are agriculture-based, reflecting the Government’s continued commitment to strengthening food security. These include:

✅ Crop farming (maize, rice, and vegetable production).
✅ Livestock farming (poultry farming, goat rearing, pig rearing, and mixed farming).
✅ Irrigation farming.
✅ Horticulture.

In addition, the programme supports agribusiness and value-addition initiatives, such as:

✅ Agro-processing (including refrigeration services).
✅ Buying and selling of agricultural produce.

These empowerment grants are expected to create employment opportunities, enhance household incomes, and contribute to long-term socio-economic development in Chinsali District.

Chinsali Municipal Council encourages women, youth, and community groups to actively participate in future CDF funding cycles to promote inclusive development, self-reliance, and economic growth within the district.
