CHINSALI MUNICIPAL COUNCIL COMMENCES REHABILITATION OF MAIN MARKET ABLUTION BLOCK

CHINSALI (14th January, 2026): Chinsali Municipal Council has commenced the rehabilitation of the ablution block at the New Main Market in Chinsali Central Business District (CBD).
The project, funded under the 2025 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) at an estimated cost of K250, 000, aims to address the sanitation challenges faced by traders and enhance hygiene standards within the market.
The rehabilitation works are currently underway and are progressing in line with the project implementation schedule. Once complete, the upgraded ablution block will provide cleaner, safer, and more dignified sanitation facilities for all market users.
Access to functional and hygienic ablution facilities is critical in maintaining public health, as it helps reduce the spread of diseases, including diarrheal and fecal-related illnesses.
The scope of works includes plumbing and electrical installations, block and concrete works, painting and decoration, as well as floor, wall, and ceiling finishes, among other related works.
Upon completion, the new ablution block will be equipped with modern toilet facilities and improved water and sanitation infrastructure, significantly enhancing overall hygiene for traders and market patrons.
Chinsali Municipal Council remains committed to creating safe, hygienic, and user-friendly public spaces that support both economic activity and community well-being.
