PRESS RELEASE: 102 CDF EMPOWERMENT GRANTS APPROVED UNDER 2025 CDF IN CHINSALI

CHINSALI (26th June, 2025): Chinsali Municipal Council is pleased to announce the approval of 102 empowerment grants totalling K2, 040, 000 for cooperatives, clubs, groups and associations in Chinsali Central Constituency under the 2025 Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, through the Muchinga Provincial Local Government Office, approved the grants in accordance with Section 12 (a) read together with Section 25 (2) of the CDF Act No. 1 of 2024.
This initiative will empower local residents, with a primary focus on agriculture to strengthen local food security, while also supporting other viable ventures aimed at improving livelihoods.
Approved projects include:
  • Livestock (village chickens, layers, goats, cattle, pigs)
  • Crop farming (maize, sugarcane, rice, vegetables)
  • Aquaculture (fish farming)
  • Agribusiness (agro-processing, hammer mill operations, fertilizer supply, farm produce trade)
  • Village banking
  • Carpentry and woodwork
These viable, income-generating projects are expected to create sustainable employment and drive long-term development in Chinsali district.
Chinsali Municipal Council encourages more women and youth to apply for future funding cycles to promote self-sufficiency, improve livelihoods, and contribute to the district’s economic growth.
